What Is on the Truck
For a Glenn Heights call we load for the hardware that era of house actually has: standard torsion springs sized for 7-foot and 8-foot sectional doors, steel rollers, extension cables, and the belt and chain-drive opener parts that were common once garage doors shifted away from the older chain-only setups. Because the broader service area spans 1969 to 2014 construction, we also carry a few older-style parts for side-mount torsion systems in case a job runs into a door that's been replaced once already with older stock. What we don't load heavy for is specialty insulated glass-panel doors or custom wood - those exist out there, but they're the exception, not what a typical Glenn Heights driveway has. If your door turns out to need one of those less common parts, we'll tell you straight that it's an order-in item rather than pretend it's on the truck.
Can You Do This Yourself
A loose roller or a noisy track you can often handle with a tube of white lithium grease and twenty minutes. Torsion springs are a different matter - they're wound under enough tension to break a bone or worse if the winding bars slip, and that risk doesn't change because your house was built in 2000 instead of 1975. If your opener is from the original build and has started grinding or reversing on its own, that's usually a gear or capacitor issue inside the unit, not something to open up without knowing the model's internals. The honest limit here: if a cable has come off the drum or a panel is bent at the hinge, that's also not a weekend fix - it needs the door brought back into alignment under load, which takes the right clamps and a second set of hands. Cleaning track grooves, tightening loose lag screws on the track brackets, and testing the auto-reverse sensors are all fine to do yourself.

We come out from Cedar Hill, about 6 miles up the road, to handle calls in Glenn Heights. Tell us what the door is doing - won't open, stuck halfway, grinding, off the track - and we'll bring the parts that match what a door from this part of town typically needs. You can see the rest of what we cover near here on our Glenn Heights area page, and if you're comparing us against work done directly in Cedar Hill, that's laid out on our Cedar Hill repair page.
